SAMANTHA ISMAIL-EPPS
Association of Breastfeeding Mother (ABM) Mother Supporter.
Hi, I’m Sam, mum to an energetic little toddler and a Mother Supporter with the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers. I always knew that I wanted to breastfeed and did everything I could to educate myself about it ahead of my baby's arrival. Attending local breastfeeding cafes, talking to other mothers and peer supporters, and knowing where to go to find evidence-based information helped us overcome a tricky start to our journey. I am certain that breastfeeding would never have happened for us, nor would we still be going, if it were not for the incredible support that we received antenatally, in the hospital, online and through support groups. Breastfeeding has become such a huge part of my path through motherhood, and I soon realised that I wanted to train as a peer supporter to help other families navigate the highs and lows of breastfeeding. I hope that I can give something back to the breastfeeding community that has helped us so much, and I look forward to meeting and supporting lots of lovely families at the breastfeeding cafe.
